The German blog Schimanke.com recently posted screenshots from the beta version of the iPhone 2.2 firmware which show that Apple will be adding delivery options for over-the-air downloads of additional media, including video and audio podcasts. iPhones on a cellular network will be limited to 10MB downloads, but wifi should support unlimited downloads.

Although these features have not been fully implemented on the iTunes-infrastructure side, it’s a good indication of what’s to come in the near future. Podcasts are a powerful medium in which to deliver content to your visitors, and Apple’s decision to support podcasts will open new doors for internet marketing in general.
