When designing microsites optimized for iPhone users, you want to author a separate style sheet for your microsite specific content. This will reduce extraneous markup and speed page downloads.

External style sheets can also help your ranking in search engines by making your content easier to index, as spiders do not have to crawl as far down your page to reach the content.

Once you’ve created your iPhone microsite template and the external style sheet that contains your iPhone specific classes and tag definitions, you can then use a media query to specify the style sheet for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
