The iPhone and iPod touch continue to rank one and two as the top handsets worldwide for mobile traffic.
“AdMob has released its monthly Mobile Metrics Report for March, and to no one’s surprise, the iPhone and iPod touch are still hot devices for surfing the web on the go. Both are also hot devices for using mobile apps, too, as AdMob says that over half of the requests for ads from iPhones now come from third-party apps.”

Since the release of the first iPhone over a year ago, interest in this device continues to grow at a rapid pace. Apple set a goal to sell 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. Last week a lot of revelations were made indicating that Apple had barred the Opera browser from the iPhone. Reports explained Apple blocked the browser company Opera from distributing a mobile version of its browser, Opera Mini, to iPhone users because it competes with Apple’s own Safari browser. According to the latest data from mobile advertising company AdMob, traffic from Apple’s iPhone on AdMob’s advertising network almost doubled in August. Apple’s iPhone saw the fastest growth of all smartphones worldwide, closely followed by the Samsung Instinct.
